Malabar pied hornbill

The Malabar Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros coronatus) is one of Sri Lanka’s most striking forest birds, instantly recognizable by its bold black-and-white plumage and impressive yellow-and-black casque. Often seen high among the trees searching for fruit, it is an important seed disperser, contributing to the regeneration and health of Sri Lanka’s forests.
